Description

Español General, 20 lecciones grupales por semana
  • Contenido: Español general según el nivel del alumno
  • Profesores: Mínimo 2 profesores titulados rotando por semana. Mas acentos, más variedad, mejor experiencia.
  • Duración: Mínimo 1, máximo 52 semanas
  • Actividades después de clase: 3 experiencias semanales incluidas
  • Duración de las clases: 4 clases diarias de 45 minutos cada una
  • Horario: 9:30 – 11:15 y 11:30 – 12:45, de lunes a viernes
  • Tamaño de los grupos: una media de 6 alumnos, máximo 10
  • Edad de los alumnos: Mínimo 18; en julio y agosto la media es de 28 años; el resto de los meses entre 36 y 45
  • Fechas de comienzo 2023:
    • Para estudiantes con conocimientos previos de Español (todos los niveles): Cualquier lunes entre 17 de abril y el 23 de octubre del 2023

  • Niveles: From absolute beginners to B2. The course is not suitable for students with  C1 or C2 levels. For those students we recommend private classes.

What will I learn?

Our Spanish courses will provide you the basis for succcesful learning. Below you will find our course outlines for all our Spanish courses structured according to the levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

As you will be studying in a school accredited by Instituto Cervantes you will be learning according to the syllabus of the Instituto Cervantes. No matter if you take an intensive course in Ibiza, evening classes, online classes or any other course format we offer.

How much of the course outline will be covered in your course, depends on the duration and the intensity of your course. It shows you what you learn on each level and gives you an idea how the different levels of A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 are structured.

Frequently asked questions

What's the average age?

The average age of our students is approximately 32 years. During the most part of the year, our students are somewhere between 25 and 50 years old. During the summer months in july and august, there are also additionally students between 18 and 22 years approximately as this is the time of the xear when they can travel. For this reason there a little more students at the school between May and October in comparison to the rest of the year when there are a little less students.

How is the course structured?

The group classes start each Monday and you will improve your Spanish continuously. Each thursday a little progression test takes place to make sure that you are learning as planned. Each Monday you will be placed in a group according to your learning progress.

How long do I need per level?

According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the syllabus of the Instituto Cervantes, there is a relatively exact description of the contents of each language level. As an accredited language school, we teach all contents in a structured manner and with a practical approach. Please click on Levels and Objectives to see how many hours you need per level.

In our course course of 10 group lessons per week, you will finish one book per 3 weeks approximately.

How long is the class? What's the timetable?

The Spanish course of 20 group lessons per week consists of 4 daily classes of 45 minutes each.

2 lessons from 9.30-11.00
Break from 11.00-11.15
2 lessons from 11.15-12.45

After class, at 13.00 the leisure activities will start.

Can I join being a total beginner?

Yes, absolutely. We have specific groups for complete beginners. Please see the specific starting dates above.

Which class materials will we use?

The Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza uses course books according to the Instituto Cervantes developed especially for intensive course in Spain. The course book’s objective is to teach the Spanish language with the best possible methodology and we enrich them with extra materials, class audios and internet ressources.

Accommodation:
During the booking of your course, we will discuss the accommodation with you and help you with the booking. It is very simple.

What does a typical week look like?
A typical week looks like this:
Sunday:
  • Arrival at accommodation
  • In shared apartment, meet your flatmates
Monday:
  •  8.00-9.00: Check-in at the school reception. On your booking confirmation we state at which time to be at the school reception on the first day.
  • 9.00: Welcome presentation
  • 9.20: Go to your group according to your level
  • 9.30: Classes start
  • 11.00: Coffee break
  • 11.15: Classes start again
  • 12:45: Classes finish
  • 13:00: Meet in front of the school for the interactive walk through Ibiza Town
Tuesday: 
  • 9:30-12:45: Classes
  • 13:00: Meet in front of the school for the food market experience
Wednesday:
  • 9:30-11:00: Classes
  • 11.00: Coffee break
  • 11.15: Classes start again. Revision of newly learned contents.
  • After class spare time. Students usually use this time to go to a beach a little farther away. Maybe “Las Salinas”

Thursday:

  • 9:30-9:50: Progression test and afterwards regular classes
  • 11.00: Coffee break
  • 11.15-12.45: Classes
  • 13:00: Meet at school reception for the pronunciation experience.

Friday:

  • 9:30: Discussion of the progression test and afterwards regular classes
  • 11.00: Coffee break
  • 11.15-12.45: Classes

Saturday: Students enjoy spare time or check out of their accommodation

Sunday: Students explore the island or take a 30 minute boat trip to the neighbouring island of Formentera

Which leisure activities can I join?

There are two options which can be combined if you wish so.

  1. Our leisure program “Vive en Español”, which is included in the price
  2. Our Paella Cooking Class on each first Monday of the month between May and October
Can I cancel the class?

As these are group classes, you can’t cancel single days or hours.

Will I get a course certificate?

Yes. Each students receives a course certificate after completion and a minimum assistance of 80% of the classes.

On which level will you place me?

Our academic coordinators are highly qualified and will analyse in details your level test results as well as your weekly self evaluation. According to the results you will be placed in the best group for your level. In case, on the first day, you have the feeling that the level is too difficult or too easy, please let us know. We will test you again and place you in a group which feels right for you.

When does this course take place?

The minimum duration you can choose is 1 week. Most students choose 2-12 weeks and some even chooser lonnger durations. You may join this course from any Monday of the year.

How much does this course cost in total?

This course is available for either 1, 2, 3 or more weeks. Here are some examples for different durations. The more weeks you take, the lower the price per week
